Hello, I'm Kumiko from Tokyo, Japan. I’ve worked for a human resource and IT outsourcing company for many years, and am now working as a freelance business consultant and Japanese language teacher. 実践的な会話練習を、初級から上級者まで行います。一人ひとりの興味や目標に合った、レッスンプランや練習方法をデザインします。カジュアルな日本語から、フォーマルなビジネス日本語まで、みなさんが実際に日本語を使う状況に合わせて、文法を説明したり例文を作ったりするのが得意です。
I provide conversational practice from beginner to advanced levels. I specifically design lesson plans and practice activities to meet your individual interests and needs. One of my strengths is to create grammar explanations and example sentences in the right context considering your real-life environment, from pretty casual settings to formal business ones.

教科書や試験勉強などで覚えたことを、会話で使えるようにすることを目指します。お話をよく聞いて、たくさん質問します。間違えたところや新しい単語や文法は、SkypeまたはGoogle Docsに書きます。
We aim to improve conversational skills using the knowledge you have learned from textbooks, exam preparation, etc. I’ll patiently listen to you and ask a lot of questions. I promise to give you corrections and grammar notes in Skype chat box or Google Docs for your review.
*No structured lessons for absolute beginners. Students are required to read at least ひらがな.
*Be sure to send me a short self-introduction before/when you book the first lesson.
*Cancellation notice must be sent at least 24 hours before the session's scheduled start time.My teaching material

I have been taking Kumiko sensei’s lessons for coming to 10 months. I am so lucky to have found sensei on italki. Ever since I started taking sensei’s lessons, I have become more confident and find Japanese language even more interesting, though challenging at times. Thank you sensei for your commitment and patience. I took a long time to form my sentences and asked too many questions today. However sensei has been very patient with me and did not rush me. Sensei was very responsible and made sure that we completed all the questions set in the lesson plan. Our lesson overran as a result. Sorry to have held you up, sensei. Thank you very much. After each lesson, I always feel that I have learnt something new.

Thanks to Kumiko sensei, I am doing more listening and comprehension practices in preparation for JLPT N2. Sensei also helped to clarify any questions I have regarding grammar. After every lesson I felt that I am a step closer to my goal. Thank you sensei.
