About Me

I’m a retired teacher. I taught elementary students for 38 years which allowed me to be equipped with the necessary skills to teach Japanese in a fun and enjoyable manner.
After retirement, I studied to become a Japanese teacher because I like talking with people.
I like traveling and I have been to several countries. I’ve been to many places in Japan so I am knowledgeable about a lot of tourist destinations.
During my free time, I play table tennis once a week. Furthermore, I have played the ukulele for over 15 years. After the pandemic I want to perform some songs while playing the ukulele in parties.
I’m really looking forward to talking to people from various countries.Me as a Teacher
I am currently a licensed Japanese teacher. But I want to gain various experiences as a community tutor in italki.
During our lessons, I use several Japanese textbooks.
For example; Minna no Nihongo, GENKI, FUN&EASY, TOBIRA, IRODORI(Web), and JLPT.
I can respond as much as possible to the needs of learners from beginners to advanced.

Lessons will be conducted in Japanese. If we can’t communicate well, I can use the English language for any explanations and clarifications. For this reason, I continue to study the English language.

Today we talked about my first day plan upon arrival in Japan. I tried to explain everything. There is still a lot of work to be done in order to be able to speak properly, but I am determined to achieve it! Need to study a lot, though! Thank you, Maisan for your teaching and feedback!

Excellent lesson once more. We focused on some adjectives and nouns that have common meanings but small differences and used them in various examples. We talked about various topics concerning Greek and Japanese everyday life or customs (eg. Mother's Day) and many more. I am very happy with my progress. Thank you Mai-san!!! I enjoy our lessons so much!
